Chess.com daily rating and avarage players rating

Hello everyone.

I have 2 questions about chess.com rating and players.

I have discovered now after looking at my stats that with the daily rating of 1650 I am better than 99,5% of chess.com players.... How is it possible? Because generally an OTB rating of 1650 is considered low/intermediate.

Second question is this: I have recently entered an open tournament with 250 players. I was expecting to be in the middle part of the table with half players stronger than me and the other half weaker. Absolutely not! Because if I list all player for highest rating I am in second position of 250. Is chess.com the right place to play daily games against strong players (2000+)? 

The average rating is a little over 600. You greatly underestimate how little most people know about this game.
