Chess.com too liberal in declaring Game Over for disconnections

My internet is spotty occasionally. Sometimes I'll be disconnected for 2 minutes and Chess.com will declare I abandoned the game, even if we're just in the opening with 9 minutes left on the clock.

Just happened, I disconnected during my opponents move, they thought for 1 minute, and I was still disconnected when it came back to me. Chess.com gave me 15 seconds then forfeited me.

The site should take into account time left in game, eval, and player's histories to determine if a rage quit disconnect is likely. I've never not used the 'Resign' button, but Chess.com continues to forfeit me for 'disconnecting'. Ridiculous.

How much time you can be disconnected depends on the time control.

It would take a lot of resources to run a positional eval on every disconnect instance

Ah, thanks for the link, didn't know all that.

I still think 60 seconds to reconnect is too short. My internet can take 1-3 minutes to reconnect. Surely there could be another system to discourage rage quitting?
