Why not?
This is a chess site , not a dating site ! 🤷♂️
its not illegal, however the trend will fade away as many more folks have been victims of dating scams

Terrible idea. At best, online dating is a way for scammers to prey upon human loneliness and naivete. At worst, online dating can even serve as a front for human trafficking. Romancing a stranger off of the internet is like picking up a hitchhiker who is wearing a hockey mask and carrying a machete.

Why not? I met my wife via online dating! We met in 2004 via eHarmony, married in 2006, and in less than 2 months, it will be 15 years!

"Treat me like a Queen..." That's exactly my point about online dating. You can end up communicating with someone who has used their queens in a streak of smothered mates and who will strike again, or you could find someone who recognizes you have great value--in a sacrifice!

it would ruin the community
I've made friends online. Most of them have become personal "real" friends or good acquaintances. You should be able to discern someone's true character from online interaction.
