Since my retirement chess as been my savior, every day it holds great purpose, keeps ones grey matter ticking over. 20 years ago I used to play chess active on the congress circuit but due to work commitments I eventually stopped but since my retirement I have returned joining 3 sites: Chess Time Pro , Shemingmind and now Chess.com i have great chess memories from my past encounters having met many great chess ambassadors and have a great chess Library of all the great past chess masters! without chess my life would be truly empty.

Glad to hear you're holding on. Hope you find things even more wonderful in life than chess.

its been a tough old slog, life has its challenges for sure! I was very active person worked for 58 years then my wife said time to retire as 70 was round the corner? so i did had it all planned out then stomach cancer, followed by covid, then a shoulder operation some retirement but chess held great memories having met several famous players 30 years ago and now still enjoying my chess, one thing that has matured with age is i no longer seem to get very annoyed when i do lose, or draw a game i should have won, now i treat each game as a part of life, as is life you have good days and not so just as in life!

Yes, it does. Welcome back to the game

After decades of employment myself, it’s nice to have a hobby again, and rekindle the old memories

Well stated on #3: “I treat each game as a part of life,” win or lose or draw, life is such. We embrace the outcome, whatever they may be
