I'd like the ability to perform a search on just those forum topics that I've posted in.
Chess.com Feature Request and Wishlist #6

I don't know if my wishes were already made in (near 500) previous posts, but here they are (again?):
Get back the "move list" button in game diagrams, so it's hidden unless you actually want to go through it. Also, can it be listed as two separate columns? The way it's shown now is harder to follow, I think. I wouldn't know what to do about variations, though. :s
Thank you.

One thing I don't like is that the graphics of chessboards isn't consistent throughout the site.
The values that determine how my chessboard looks - those in Settings - only affects the games I play, with other chessboards (like positions/games posted by users, quizzes etc) retain their preset appearance.
In my opinion all chessboards should look the same to me, no matter what set of pieces or colours others have chosen. I've chosen mine and I'd like them to be used everywhere.
Thanks.
I can't count the number of times I've said this -- I agree completely.
The individual posting a diagram doesn't know what board sizes I prefer, nor what work best for my resolution. I should have an option that allows me to override the poster's chosen settings with my own.
The person who is posting is choosing the board they like for their work, so it should be shown what they choose....
This would have to be an option, IMO, "display all positions using my chosen scheme" with the default set to "NO". The chess puzzles can draw awareness to some users that there *are* different schemes, people who have a gripe with it clearly know already.
That said, I would set this option to "YES".

Yes, I also think it should be implemented as an option in Settings.
I particularly wish this feature to be added, since I'm trying to stick with that 3D pieces set we premium members are allowed to choose (I fear I may be playing worse in real life if I become too dependent on 2D renditions of chessboards).

Maybe it would be a premium feature?

How comes my Live Chess settings do not reflect in my Live Chess games? Is that a bug?
Apparently we've got two different settings pages for LC games: one in our LC home and one within the open window, and only the latter one seems to matter.

Another Vote Chess suggestion:
I would like for group admins to be able to set an alert for their vote chess games. This alert would be issued by Chess.com to all members of the team, and it would say, for example: ONLY THREE HOURS REMAIN in "_____" Vote Chess game. Click here to view game and submit your vote.
Here is how it could work:
- A drop-down menu is created that contains the hour that Group Admins would like the alert to be sent out. Anywhere from 1 hour to 10 hours.
- When "Time left" reaches the alert setting, everyone in that vote chess game will get a message. For example, if I have my alert setting at 10 hours, when my 48 hour Vote Chess game reaches 10 hours left, everyone is notified and will then cast their vote.
I think this change would be very useful for 1.) not losing on time; and 2.) encouraging team members to discuss before voting. It eliminates the fear some have that they will forget to vote before the deadline, which potentially stops (or curbs) early votes.

about video lessons:
- links to video connections (i was having trouble finding all the videos of a series and in the right order. such a great resource, but difficult to navigate through. maybe simplified version of the netflix layout?)
- indications if i've already watched the video.
about posts and points for posting:
- is the point system necessary? it's great that people contribute, but many are making irrelevent posts (like spam!) just for earning points. it inhibits retreiving and posting relevent information or questions.
- add a "like" button, like in facebook, this may save a lot of space on your server.
about showing online status:
- options for status, like skype... i don't want to show that i'm always online even though i am! also, it's misleading if i'm watching videos on the site and unavailable to make moves in games.
for book openings:
- an explanation on how to use this great resource
- ability to sort own games by the types of openings (for example, information like: 75% of the time, i use such-and-such opening as black, which in general is won by white 90% of the time... as a beginner, i would find this helpful.)

About Live Chess, it would be nice if the new soon-to-appear version fixed a somewhat annoying detail. Black's clock should start running as soon as White makes the first move. The way it is now, Black is often idle for several boring minutes.

No, Unless you're going to also start White's clock immediately I think it should stay the way it is. The problematic scenario I can think of is a player accepting a challenge as White, moving immediately, and Black losing time because he wasn't near his PC. If we're going to afford the players on the White side protection from this we should also do so for the players on the Black side.

you can always abort :)

I disagree. The game starts with White's first move.
that's easy to say when you're playing over the board and both people are present. but in an online world, it isn't so obvious to players when the game has started. maybe they are in another tab, grabbing a snack, or not looking at the screen.
How about a way to sort the forum topics by "most views", "most comments", etc.
