nice list erik (non sarcastic) hopefully you can get the funding for that, good luck:)
PS: You should give ranks to the members depending on stats: eg. class c, expert, class e, misc.
Good luck again :):):)

Greeter games don't affect your statistics. They are just for fun and for mentoring new players.
I like them, and I believe it fosters a sense of community much needed here at chess.com.
I take on three at a time, and I suggest that everyone do a few! They are always unrated.
sometimes i'd find it useful if posts could be saved in a "my-saved-posts" folder in order to see them through later on easily.
The site is awesome, anyway!
My requests, obviously, is badges for points. I know it may take some programming to achieve, but it would be a great incentive for members to post on the forums. There could be different color badges for 100 points, 500 points, 1000 points, etc.
The best part is, since it's only a badge, spamming would not be an issue. People could care less if someone has a nice badge. But to the person who bears it, if it was achieved legitly, it is a prized possession.
Thanks!

For the "View Players" search for Online Chess, I would like to have more information listed in the results and sortable. Average time per move is very important to me. Timeouts could be a factor, though they are pretty rare. Also, number of games in progress gives me an indication as to how much attention I will get if we both happen to be online at the same time.

So before I invest $500 I would like to know how long has the site been operating and what is Erik's views on the future of his site, will he sell? Will he retire and when? Will he expand and if so what are his plans?
The site has been up and running since May 2007. The future of Chess.com? Well, our goal was to become the most visited online chess site in the world. Now that we are there, our goal is to keep working on all of the things that members want to see (which is why we ask for your feedback and ideas). Will I sell? No current plans. The future? I have no idea what will happen in the future, but I am quite sure I will still be running Chess.com and trying my best to make it as amazing as possible. Will I retire??? Man, I'm only 30 :) Will I expand? There is still a LOT to do in online chess...
Anything else? :)
There may already be some way to do this, but if not, then it would be nice if a player could play against himself in an unrated game, just to try out some new opening, for example. And if it is already possible, then maybe somebody can tell me how? Thank you!
What would be really great would be an arbiter option for tournament games with a time control over 3 days. You could make it a rule that any game where one side has a rook advantage (pawn value of 5+ on computer eval) or higher can claim a forced win and have the game decided in their favor by chess.com. There is probably too high a game count for this to be practical, but I think it would really lower the amount of people who drag out lost positions in hopes of annoying their opponent into resigning.
Try adding suicide chess, gothic chess or other types of chess games to live chess or the online chess, this should make chess more fun
I'm not sure if this has been said or if this is the right place to post this, but I think there should also be the topic's name in the forum index, so you know what topic the most recent person posted in, so it would be something like:
Chess.com Feature Requests and Wishlist #3

Since they have it like that on a different forum I go on, and I reckon it's a helpful addition.
I think showing captured pieces would be nice. Especially for beginners. One doesn't see many chess sites without captured pieces shown.
Not sure if someone has already suggested this, but would be nice to have the AJAX board pop-ups that you get on hover over on the game alerts.
I'd like to browse the game by hovering over "view" rather than click view and then lose the alert. Some times, I just want to see what move has made, but not worry about making a move yet, so don't want to lose the alert.

Eh? It has that in the "details" section, doesn't it?
Yep, your right! I knew it was a good idead! Thanks for the quick action!
I just thought of something i would appreciate very much which goes to the heart of what chess.com is about = play, learn, share.
The abiility to after a game meet up with you opponent on that very board and via a shared analasys board (where both can move the pieces back and forth) go over the game and exchange thoughts. With such a board in addition with using for instance "skype" you could actually analyse the game with your opponent just as if he was sitting in front of you and you were moving the pieces back and forth discussing different lines...
Concerning themed tournaments, could we have it such that there a a few openings for the players to choose? I was recently thinking a "non 1. e4, 1. d4 or 1.c4" tournament would be cool. So instead of having it a Grob or Bird tournament, it would be a little more diverse. Thanks!
