Yup, right now it's quite inferior to the old app. Loads of possibilities though, and a lot of work ahead.
1. Why am I sent to live chess when I open the app? I only ever play correspondence games so I want an option to take me there (or tactics or whatever when I open the app).
2. Daily chess! WTF? Online, turn-based... when will you use the right name?
3. Articles get screwed up (Wiko cink 5). Diagrams come out ok but then you get three pages of blank screen or [...]. Screws those that ask you to analyse a position since you don't get to read the task (see first Dan Heisman article for example).
4. Themes are great but I can't choose the pieces I want to use?
5. When I start an online game I can't choose whether I want to play black or white.
Too many bugs, cannot sign out of live chess without having to terminate the app function, cannot play unrated, cannot easily view other player profiles because their names are not clickable, and starts straight in Live Chess, when that's not what I want. I heard there are a lot of crashes too.....
The app is only better than the old one in one respect, getting around is somewhat easier, whereas the old app whenever you hit the back button, you could be browsing the forum but you go straight back out into the main menu.....

Just updated to 3.0.117 still force closes on S3 android 4.3 e. g. Click on Notification ;starts app; force closes.
tried force stop the app and remove any data?

to many bugs...chalengge live or daily rate d... live its not good...
Diagrams don't in the forum section...
In the last last version I cant send my next move. nothing happends when clic on green button

I detest this upgrade. I cannot submit moves in my games. The app refuses to post them. I have to log onto my laptop to play now. Please fix this.
i cant invite friends to live chess through the app. crashes. using a tablet
I can't find the tournament section either! I thought I was just being blind...
I also can't view my stats anymore, which I'd annoying. I get a message that it's for premium members only (which I am).

I hate to say it but the new app is awful. On my Galaxy S4, I have a constant Flickering 'Loading' animation at the top, the sliders for selecting opponent rating range are unusable, STILL no option to disable chat (really the only thing I felt was lacking on the old app). I left RedHotPawn.com because of their crap APP but its better than the new chess.com one!

Also when someone beats me, I can't see their final move. Very frustrating.
And thus you have to uninstall and re download from google play to downgrade to the old app...

I see we have the old app back! Many thanks! Can I suggest when the new one is relaunched, it is as a separate app so both can coexist on a device? This will allow members to test it without losing access to the old app, which can then be phased out

Good idea. I suppose we could try the beta if it is straightforward to switch and know what is supposedly fixed.
The new android UI bits amazing.... but with many bugs and without all previously options. 1. the chat doesnt work 2. dont display the completed games 3. I cant find the tournament section 4. I cant find the opened challeges (daily or correspondence games) 5. Crash frecuently and more minor bugs. anyone has more bugs or errors?
