chess.com hanging a lot?

Hi All,

This is my first venture into the forum part of chess.com, despite using the site for maybe 12 months now. Over the last week or so, I've noticed the site has much more propensity to 'hang' Internet Explorer(IE), meaning the site fails to load properly and I have to close IE through the by CTRL-ALT-DEL. I've also downloaded and tested Google Chrome and Apple Safari with the same results. Re-boots and my latop achieve the same.

Has anyone else noticed chess.com is hanging a lot more, loading slow or generally just underperforming? And yes, I know the answer might be to pay for chess.com and do away with the ads!

I haven't had any particular problems in the last week on either FF or IE.

Yeah, it's definitely ads - on the status bar it's freezing up/hanging on http://ads.uk.doubleclick.net.....

It's never been this bad before.

I use firefox 3 and I never see ads.  I've had no problems (and I suggest firefox to everyone).

I'm using chrome, in Canada, and haven't had any sort of problem like that.

I've taken Kenny's advice and downloaded Firefox now, and everything is working well. As well as it being ad-related, I think it might be a UK issue as the bit that seems to be dawdling to load is apparently a UK ad site. Logic would imply the issue is with IE.

Yeah, I believe the issue is ads as well. We'll try and get this fixed.

Yes, I am using Firefox web browser and it seems to give me the best connection to Chess.com as opposed to other web browsers.
