So he's kind of like Honey BooBoo? If you know who that is.
child genius

What do you mean she used force to get him there? I didn't get to watch, was she joking or something?
The child may be British, but the mother is American. Gave up her career (as an architect) to push the boy. She's like something off of those ghastly pre-teen pageant shows.
This.

Yes Ray, he will be a strong player but not sure how far he will go.
He will need a good coach soon. They are NONE in UK!!
He already has an IM coach. That seems like plenty for an eight or nine year old.

I watched, and it never came on.

Yeah. She gave up her career to nurture a future fide master.
Lets be honest though, giving up your career to nurture a master isn't worth it not to mention unnecessary. A future WC contender makes sense, but a master... just get the kid a coach and pay for 20 tournaments a year and the kid will be a master long before he grows up enough to realize his own interests, gets sick of his pushy parent, moves 1000 miles away, and quits chess for good.

what a bad parent let the lad be a kid. i think she is very pushy and can see her pushing him away latter in life. you see parents like this are really not letting the kid grow up normal.

Hmm.. you read the gaurdian Doggy?
Trying to pigeonhole me, Steve?
I read whatever interests me and is free, left on a seat, featured on the internet or thrown up by a search. Articles from the heavyweights on the net, The Sun at work and Huffington Post daily (I have a penchant for bitchy/humorous celebrity comment).
I draw the line at the Daily Sport though, just noticing that paper makes me feel more stupid.

I watched, and it never came on.

"The service is not currently available in your area." -- looks like they don't let it be watched outside the UK.
Speaking of pushy moms -- when I moved to another city when I was in the elementary school, one of my new classmates had this kind of mom. After a while, it became evident that her son was no longer the best in the class, and at the parents-teacher conference day, she sought out my mother in order to convey that "George will be better than Kris." Eventually, the guy commited a suicide at 28.

No, didn't recognise him and he wasn't named. He looked quite young.

Maybe you'll know him.
By the way, at 9.01 the kid plays Helge Hjort at a Hendon Rapidplay. Helge knows he's on camera and is trying his hardest to control his wobbly head idiosyncrasy.
p.s. The IM is shown from 10.05

I watched, and it never came on.

I watched Fox four news. Your post just said "Service is not currently available in your area."
