What is so important about christmas for you, what does it mean to you, what makes it so special for you?

(three question i know but just answer one lol)

Merry Christmas

Kindofblue

It means stess because I have to go buy gifts for my friends and family. The only holiday I like is Thanksgiving because on Thanksgiving you just eat with no darn gift giving. For me it's just one big headache. Cry

ILLYRIA

It means getting to dress up as the baby Jesus.

Being a Christian, it is our family & Church celebration of the coming of the world's hope, Jesus the Messiah. The commercialism mostly ruins it, though. So, I hope you have a Merry Christmas...& for folks of other faiths, I hope you have a thoroughly wonderful holiday season [Don't let the commerecialization run your holidays].

Nicely said!  Merry Christmas to you, too!

PS:  I created a Christmas theme for Chess.com - it is called A Traditional Christmas.  Still tweaking it, but I think it is pretty functional as it.  Enjoy!

The birth of our saviour.  Jesus coming into the world.  The beginning of a gift of  life.  Later Jesus died on the cross for or sins.  He couldn't have done this hadn't He come into the world as a child and demonstrated his love for us.  How we ought to live our lives.  A miracle for all mankind.  This is a time of the year when others show compassion and grace towards others that is probably untouched by all other times of the year.  I pray that all will have a Great Christmas with family and friends.  May God Bless You All.

Well being an atheist religion plays no part for me in the holiday season (of course my uber Catholic family disagrees). I enjoy it as a time to spend with friends and family and I enjoy the giving of gifts especially to my wife and daughter (although at 16 months she's more interested in boxes and wrapping paper than the gifts themselves).

If you don't like the consumerism of the holidays you should join this tournament. Laughing

Christmas is the pivotal moment in human history and destiny.  Some choose to reject others reflect.  I am humbled that the creator God would make a way to him through Christ.  It's not about the gifts of commercialism but the gift of God.

Merry Christmas

What about his wife? No prayers for her?

I am also an atheist, and I will spend the christmas period trying to forgive all those religious people (of whatever faith) for the pain and suffering they have brought into the world, and for their continued efforts to promote superstition, ignorance and fear in favour of knowledge and understanding.

Yes, Andrew, that's always a good thing to pray for-& please include also all those of the Atheist faith who have harmed, maimed, & wronged others either physically (Stalinism anyone?), or have striven to slam their moralistic self-righteousness down others throats (Dawkins & crew anyone?).

Sorry for being a  bit punchy there. I do sincerely hope the best for you & yours.
