"Claim a win" and "petrified game" do not exist in chess.

A win can be claimed in a Daily game that has timed out but the member does not have the automatic claim on time setting turned on.
For games, that's the only claim win option.
Puzzle Battle has the option when you have more right than your opponent and they have three strikes
When exactly can you claim a win in a chess game? What do you (or the other player) have to do in order to be able to claim a win? I honestly think it's flawed because I've seen another player be able to claim a win when the other player looks like he or she is winning or equal.
I may be mistaken but I think there are variants such as 'Petrified Chess' which allow for claiming a win. If you are referring to a variant then you could ask in the Variants forum if you don't get the answer you are looking for here.
