Clock runners. Sore losers.

Are there any measures chess.com can take to deal with people who just run the clock out when they're losing? I don't get it. They're just hoping I'll abandon the game?  Pathetic and embarrassing. Can you imagine how fun someone like this is in real life? Another one of my favorites: Blunders queen. Offers a draw.

Dude.. I never run out the clock

I had connection issues.  I am very fair player

welcome a challenge

I was having spotting internet. I live in Tijuana Mexico.. and when it gets winding .. we tend to have a lot of spotty connections.

so chill.. I never play out the clock

ToddG2

I just reviewed our game

and sort of remember it.. I blundered twice in a row and never took more then 30 seconds to play

and I like to play to the end usually.. be surprised at how many people blunder in th end game

it is good practice

Challenge me again sometime

Neuromanswer

Nah man I wasn't talking about you. I have connections issues too. Sometimes It'll be mate in 1 and the other guy will run the clock for 25 minutes.

Neuromanswer

I think I remember our game. You outplayed me the whole game and then just blundered. I've blundered many a game myself. I only started playing a few months ago. I don't mind losing either; it's the only way to learn.

ToddG2

I report a holes

and I usually get a response from Chess.com

I just report them from either their profile or I think there is something in the game too

2 places to do it I think.  Just block em, report em and look for a friendly game

ToddG2

funny how streaky I am

when I played you .. I was in a rut.. lost like 15 of 20

since think I think I am 18W 2L 2D or something crazy and back over 1000

Neuromanswer

I've improved a lot. Hovering around 1100. Not bad for starting in January! I play all the time though.

Neuromanswer

I don't like snitching, but in this case, I think it just helps everyone's experience.

Clock runners as in flagging?

No, when someone is losing so they don't make any moves wasting time.

Just accept the win and be thankful they can't strangle you to death through the internet.

What if they could though. 😱

New chess.com update allows strangulation of your opponent if they offer a draw after losing material

Here's to a better world.

I've never understood why people complain about their opponent stalling.

First off, it's not like you're losing any time you weren't prepared to put into the game in the first place. Secondly, it's easier, you can literally just sit there till you win, you don't even need to do anything.

thirdly, if we're being honest, most of the time you're really only sitting there for like 2-5 minutes, It's really not a big deal.

Pulpofeira

Definitely. I can do housework that I shouldn't have neglected for starters, and still win.

How wrong this entire thinking is - that a player starts a game and needs to be “prepared” to spend the entire time the clock allows - even when the opponent is abusive and acts unsportsmanlike.
In effect the attitude condones the behavior saying it’s “not a big deal” “just sit there and wait” and “objective is to win”. (From another post here)Very likely such people themselves practice the poor behavior.
No doubt the poster will soon attack this criticism with her usual insults regarding members intelligence.
