Clock runners. Sore losers.

The site already punishes people who run the clock down, so not only is this post in it's entirety is pointless, but your argument that im condoning bad behaviour is wrong. You completely missed the point because ur so eager to start arguments with people

Secondly you're saying that it's a big deal makes no sense. You literally only have to wait like 3 minutes.

By stating such behavior is not understood, that it is no big deal, it’s only 3 minutes of a players time to waste away, the objective is to win - a tacit agreement is made, in effect condoning the behavior as no objections are raised.
That simple. Knowing certain conduct is unwanted and abusive - yet not raising objection,  responding with no big deal,  is entering into an unsaid (tacit) agreement.

IsraeliGal

you literally dont understand what you're saying.

If the behaviour is already being punished, there's no point complaining about it. Especially when it isn't significant

I've never understood why people complain about their opponent stalling.

First off, it's not like you're losing any time you weren't prepared to put into the game in the first place. Secondly, it's easier, you can literally just sit there till you win, you don't even need to do anything.

thirdly, if we're being honest, most of the time you're really only sitting there for like 2-5 minutes, It's really not a big deal.

I can see your point here, but it's still very crude and definitely poor etiquette to let the time run out, it's wasting everyone's time for no reason whatsoever

Just had the same experience - an opponent rated 1270 (I'm about 570) waiting out the clock out of what seemed like pique. It gave me the time to try and anticipate his next move - which never came - and think about my next couple of moves, but it was strange.

Maybe he went for a cup of coffee and forgot to come back ...

Are there any measures chess.com can take to deal with people who just run the clock out when they're losing? I don't get it. They're just hoping I'll abandon the game?  Pathetic and embarrassing. Can you imagine how fun someone like this is in real life? Another one of my favorites: Blunders queen. Offers a draw.

XDddddddd I often offer a draw after blundering but if he declines then I instantly resign. I feel like i have the right to offer the draw at any time and sometimes its convenient for the opponent to actually accept if he is in time trouble or maybe he has to go

PawnReclaimer

take the win and report them for stalling/quitting games. No need to cry over it.

Yeah i agree, it's a terrible thing to do, but im saying that it's laready something the site deals with, and at worst ur losing a couple minutes of time, and if anything, i wouldn't mind someone not moving because i get a free win without having to do anything.

Neuromanswer

I know it's not a huge deal, but I play 30 minute games. I don't think I'm good enough to play blitz effectively yet. As far as crying about it, is that not acceptable on these forums? I thought they were an internet dive bar of sorts. I'm not really interested in "free wins". I like to play. I don't know why, but something disturbs me about about this behavior. It feels psychopathic. But then I realize I'm probably playing an 8 year old.

The kind of 8 year old who kicks his sister.

how would chess.com be able to tell the difference between someone stalling and or just using more time because they are losing/ in a bad position and cant find a good move!?

the answer is they cant.. also there are many juniors playing on this site, most of them are taught to not resign and play on until mate, just deal with and go refill your coffee cup

later dudes

I do not think that is a problem mate first of all its a 3 minutes game I know it is kinda against sportsmanship but I would rather prefer you to wait for those minutes
