Closed Fair Play

Currently playing a game but the guy I am playing now has a symbol saying "closed for fair play"

What exactly does this mean, can the game continue?

It means Game Over - You Win. Your opponent was convicted of violating playing rules (probably using an engine) and their account was closed. The game can not continue because you no longer have an opponent.

That is what I presumed but the game still appears as live on here, maybe I have to wait until my opponents clock runs out to claim the win.

Thanks for answering anyway.

I don't play games here but from what I've seen others say your game will end soon and I believe you will receive points for the win.

In a daily game, the player will have to time out first.

I have no idea why somebody at our very low level would feel the need or urge to cheat?

Why do they cheat anyway ! 🤷‍♂️

I don't care why people cheat - only that chess.com catch them and reward me with my compensation for the evil of this world

Only in chess can there be justice

As for me, I fluctuate between a bullet rating of 1200 and 1500

It all boils down to whether I have been a good Grobula or not

If I am good then my brain function better

If I am bad then my play suffer along with my rating

but, Grobula do not ever cheat, and, the computer of chess.com will verify

Grobula may be evil, but is honest

🤔 with this...i definitely have all the reasons...why it makes more sense...playing with the BOTS for now...if im going to start playing with humans again...it should be over the DGT board...with the official FIDE-arbiter roaming around the playing hall...

😌

Playing bots is a poor substitute. There are cheaters on every level, but that is not a good enough reason not to play against other people. Most of the people do not use engines.

For instance, I've played around 400-500 games in this year and a half while I am here. Perhaps 10 or 15 of my opponents have been banned so far. So I encounter a cheater maybe once or twice a month, and I get the points back.

So, I don't feel that a few cheaters here and there are reason enough not to play. happy.png

Hi,

If you want to discuss cheating issues probably best in the cheating forum not in the main ones.

Thanks
