I value such opponents! I need all the practice I can get on the three knight checkmate.
Not resigning

NO NO NO NO NO NOT ANOTHER RESIGNING THREAD WHYYYYY STALEMATEMASTER WHY YOU BUMP TROLL THREAD
*braces for 20 pages of stupid posts*
Jsmucker, have you noticed there are other forum threads with THE EXACT SAME TOPIC? (I just capitalize all the letters in one word to emphasize)

I thinks it's a very silly thing to get offended over. They don't stop soccer games when a team jumps out to a 6 goal lead, they don't stop basketball games once a team is up by 50, regardless of whatever game it is, it isn't over until it's over. Are the odds of people in poor positions coming back good? No probably not, but if the position truly is that lost for your opponent, what harm is there in just finishing it out? They're just prolonging their own misery by not resigning. Even if they are sticking around out of disrespect (which I feel generally isn't the case anyways), there is no better way to quiet disrespect than by crushing your opponent.

Did u learn that from bettensmajic?

If you resign you can't win a run-out-of-time.
new member of chess.com, I suppose?

It bothers me only if it is combined with something else such as rude chat, eating up all their time in simple positions, or random intentional bad moves. If someone drops a piece and tries to win it back, that is fine.

The. Funniest. Quote. Ever.

I always resign when im losing, because i dont like to play when im behind :P
Unless the opponent has little time
And u dont find that a little disrespectful too, to underpromote just to toy with an opponent. I mean you can't even argue that getting good with a four knight mate is useful because that situation will never come. THe point is exactly that, it is disrespectful to waste someones time if you want to keep playing. It's chess.com you can easily start another game. the fact is most people who play (at my level at least) try to get there rateing up at all costs and not resigning is just another one of there sad attempts to increase their ratings at the costs of disrespecting me and the game of chess (This is probably less true at the higher levels i'll admit)

This is why I prefer to play with an increment instead of a large initial base time. It gives me time to finish won games and if I am clearly winning I don't need to sit and wait for the clock to run down 12 minutes when my losing opponent decides to go make a sandwich and see if I will still be there when he moves with a minute left.
It's much more disrespecful to question someones right to choose not to resign. Some people just like to fully end games, let the opponent finish their mating net, ect.
