I'm a "show me, don't tell me" type person.
Show me once and then let me do it, for tactile purposes (muscle memory maybe?).

Im honestly a bit of both.
In terms of chess, there probably is a correlation, but a weak one, since there are so many different factors that contribute to someone's chess "skill". My guess is that more visual players would be more creative, i guess, while more analytical players would have a "boa constrictor" play style (eg. kinda like karpov). No clue if this is right or not - just a guess.
Some are also tactile learners and a physical board helps. Some insist a physical board is necessary.
