Also PGN download is disabled in V2
Computer Analysis on V3 site
Yes you are right. I tried to download a pgn in v2 and it dudn't work and I got this message The PGN-download service is no longer available. .......
This is appalling !
And now pgn download is gone again from v2. I get the message The PGN-download service is no longer available. Please click here to use the new V3 website to retrieve PGNs of all your games.
I don't know what you did to get that result but when I ran that position, it didn't say that 3 Bc4 was a blunder.
and it didn't suggest 3..Nc6.
Hmm, I have not seen any major "blunders" from the computer but I do miss the offline analysis...anyone know if they are bringing it back?
So now it is February 2017 and I am finding it pretty frustrating trying to use V2 to look at my games because of the offline analysis of the whole game that I really like and then having to switch to V3 if I want to download a pgn because of this :The PGN-download service is no longer available. Please click here to use the new V3 website to retrieve PGNs of all your games. OK chess.com I realise you want everyone to switch to V3 but why don't you provide an offline analysis of the whole game in V3? Good question. I have lost hope of getting a coherent answer to this question.
Probably because the site doesn't want to use their CPU cycles for running game analysis. The v3 analysis uses your local machine resources instead.
The pgn download is working again in V2. Maybe someone listened or maybe it is just coincidence. Anyway if someone listened and fixed the pgn download in V2 thank you.
Previously posted on site feedback...I meant to post it in chess.com community. Any comments on what I have to say about computer analysis in v2 and v3 are welcome.
I tried v3 a few months ago but I went back to v2 because I really dislike the computer analysis on v3. I much prefer the v2 computer analysis. But now it seems that the computer analysis has been stopped on v2. At least the games I summitted for analysis yesterday on v2 still haven't been analysed. That is a bit of a disaster as far as I am concerned.
But I decided to try the v3 version again. And the conclusion is that I still really dislike it.
Firstly in V3 the computer analysis seems to be in realtime only. I really dislike that.
Secondly it seems to me that the analysis I got back in V3 is really bad, simply erroneous. After 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Bc5 3. Bc4 the V3 analysis says that the last move 3. Bc4 is a blunder and evaluates the position as (-2.43) which is nonsense. Then it says that the best move for black is 3. ...Nc6 and evaluates the position as (+0.20) which is completely in contradiction with what it just said. In case you have trouble believing this I pasted the analysis below. OK this is the 3 minute analysis but to wait 3 minutes to get this is a complete waste of time.
So can someone confirm that computer analysis is no longer available in v2.
If chess.com no longer does it can someone recommend a site where you can get a good offline analysis of the whole game that you can review later when you feel like it (as was the case on the v2 version of chess.com).
Thanks for your help to anyone who will reply.
And here is the analysis I got on V3 on 8 december 2016:
. 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Bc5
C25: Vienna Game: Anderssen Defense
3. Bc4
(3. f4(+0.37) Nf6 4. Nf3 d6 5. a3 Bd46. fxe5 dxe5 7. Nxd4 exd4) 3... Qh4
(3... Nc6(+0.20) 4. Nf3 Nf6 5. O-O d66. d3 O-O 7. a3 a6 8. b4)
