Conditional moves
I don't know Erik - that's why I'm posting here and I'm sure it will work, because as I mentioned I saw it on a different chess site. The only question is how much work it is to install such a new feature.
@ elcomandante66 of course the settled conditional moves (more than one should be possible) must not be seen by the opponent, because this would influnce his tactics. and otherwise reveal your ideas before he made a decission.i agree, tournaments are much more important ... it was just an idea
It doesn't necessarily matter when, its just nice to know that it CAN be done, and will eventually be incorporated. Thanks!
I think this feature has advantage not to waste our time in waiting long for traditional and known or expected easy move .....especially in some situation
the only flaw i guess would be, clock issues,
fraser22. you are replying to a topic that was started 10 years ago. Since then the feature, making conditional moves, has been introduced. It happened years ago, don't know when.
I am not sure what you mean by "clock issues". Let me clarify what the option of conditional moves is:
You make your move. Then you decide that if the opponent makes a certain move as his answer then you allready know what you will do, so you make your next move as your conditional move. Your conditional move will happen immediatly in case the opponent's move fits your condition. There is an option where you can make conditional moves.
how can I find another chess player by their user name ? if anyone knows please send me msg
There's a magnifying glass icon either in the top right corner (top menu) or lower left corner (left side menu) of the website. Click on the magnifying glass to open a search box.
is it possible to set a conditional move where I want to play a specific move no matter what my opponent plays rather than set up all his options. This is an endgame where my opponent chooses not to resign his king is box in by my rook and I just want to move a pawn up the board, get a queen and checkmate him. His King can't cross my rook to get to my pawn and my rook is protected by my king. So no matter where my opponent moves his king I am going to run my pawn up the board.

Unconditional premoves are only possible in live games, not daily games.

Hi,
I saw it on another chess site. A feature that is interesting especially for openings or endgames.
It's a kind of an automatic conditional move, which could work as follows:
If opponent moves piece X to square Y (or takes my piece that is possibly on square Y) I could set up an automatic move, which fires immediatelly after the opponents move without the necessesarity of going online.
Example (opponent is white, I am black):
If the opponent moves e4, I will move e5 - this will then happen automatically after the oppnents move and it will be his turn again.
Another annoying issue is if opponent (due to a check e.g.) has only one single legal move like moving the king to only one single possible square or covering the check with only one single possible piece. This of course can only happen during very late endgames, so why not let the computer doing this only legal move? Otherwise you need to wait for the opponents move even he is not online possibly.
What do you think about my (stolen ;-) ) ideas?
