Conditional Moves

Just wondering what the polite thing to do is. If I have a clearly won game, say R + K vs K, is it ok to use conditional moves all the way to mate, or would that be rude. And does it make a difference if it's a friendly game or tourney game?

I don't see a problem with that at all, I think conditional moves are a great way to speed up the game.

Hm, I wouldn't consider it rude. It's not against the rules and if it's easily won, I don't see how it could be.

I once shared this concern, but I must admit that I've delivered a few mates via conditional moves since then.  What we need are conditional messages, so that when the hammer drops automatically, your victim gets a "Good game!  Sorry I couldn't checkmate you in person!" message.  ;-)

As the recipient of a long string of conditionals, I wanted to wear a tinfoil hat to stop my mind being read!!!

But rude, no.

when it's not your turn to move you can tell the comp to play certain moves in response to your opponents particular moves.
