Pics or it didn't happen. And no rush. Not like it's going to outrun you.

Episode 14: "Return of Coolout"

Not directed by George (but he wishes he did so, he'll take out being disgruntled on Disney instead).

Coolout strikes back before he returns?

if it's a split system the drip pan may be full because of a clogged drain.  Algae loves those little tubes.

Festerthetester

I have a unitized system.  Everything outside.  Let it drip.  Never a freon problem

Dictators never forget.

Festerthetester

Most split systems I've worked on were drip pans and freon leaks.  Whoever installs these monsters in 24 inch attics with 20 foot drain lines needs to be made to fix them.

I had an A/C and home appliance service.  I sub contracted my techs.  You're right.  Most quit after 2 - 3 years.  No one likes weekend callouts all summer

Where does the algae come from to get stuck inside tubes in a machine???

Festerthetester

warmth and moisture.  leave a pan of water out in the heat in the summer for a few days.  The spores are airborne like tiny UFOs

At the risk of sounding like a boring high school science class, algae do not grow from seeds, but from spores. Millions and millions of these spores are present in the environment and carried right to your pool when the wind blows. These spores are everywhere and there is no way to stop them.

I have pulled, brushed, and blown out some really nasty blockages due to algae.      And don't get me started on cleaning evaporator coils.

I had the same nasty sinus issue too, it was horrible blowing everything out. Oh and make sure that secondary drain terminates at an easily seen point.

The road goes on forever and the party never ends…

Way back at #253 I said this thread was better than any he was actually a part of.  I never thought it would still be going another 75 posts.  I'm sure he's got the popcorn and his feet up watching the show.  Hey coolout.  Chess still isn't a sport!
