That's excellent, you should have asked to have it made into a proper reference section on the site (or maybe you did and it didn't happen. I don't mind using excel to make a spreadsheet of it all, but I don't know how you can implement that on a forum post.
Damn, and I thought here's my chance to do something really tangible for chess. com.
Yes, Language Exchange, and I was quite pleased with the number of posts it generated. But I am not sure how to make it a reference section, or even to ask. Is it informal, or is there some procedure? Anyway, I still have my Excel spread sheet, and I added more to it than just what I got from here, and I will happily make it available to anybody who wants it, with one caveat. I am not sure how to send an attachment through the usual Chess.com messages, so I would need to ask for a real e-mail address. I know that this freaks some people out, but whatever, mine is vance917@gmail.com. If you send me a message and ask for the language spread sheet, then I will happily send it to you.
While the idea is a nice one, the more important ideal of merely being helpful and not impatient is the bottom line. Often, limping around in another language can be less helpful than being simple and clear.
And that's coming from a trilingual American ;-)
Cheers Vance, I sent you an e-mail. As to you Princetrumpet, you may be right, but this only encompasses basic greetings and I felt I made a better impression on new players if I at least attempted something, most spoke English, but this got the ball rolling so to speak, rather than having me ask them loads of questions in English and making them feel uncomfortable if they were unsure of what I said.

I already beat you to it, and players from around the world added in translations in their own languages. Check out my forum on the subject.
