Magnus had a lot of scandals in the last few years, but he is still a good guy. Musk isn't.

Er you mean government funded .... Once your rich enough it's pretty hard to suck at all your businesses if you let them do their own thing

Magnus is probably more like the Tiger Woods of chess. Elon Musk is famous for being a brilliant businessman. He's creative and multi talented. He dominates several fields.

I think Magnus and Tiger are more alike because they dominate their particular field. They are the best at their respective recreational activities.

Who? Magnus, Tiger, or Elon? I suppose at that level ego plays a big part, so no matter which one it's probably not unexpected.

Elon ... I doubt Magnus would do anything like that it's different if your really good at a sport then if your good cause rich

I think the comment was about being the best. Is Magnus the best at what he does like Elon is the best at what he does? People make comparisons like that all the time.

To me it makes more sense to make more similar comparisons though. Like is is Elon Musk the Howard Hughes of the 21st century. Or is Magnus the Bobby Fischer of our time? Things like that. Elon Musk is not a famous chess player and Magnus is not a famous business person. So the comparison would only be about being the best in their field. They just aren't similar fields.

Musk created evs, he has the most advanced rocket company in the US that does what NASA should be able to do, but can't, he created online payments, is a frontrunner in AI, he is a horrible person, but none the less a frontier,

Exactly. It makes no sense to compare those two people in that way. It's like saying "last time I checked Magnus is not 6 foot 2 inches tall".
