@IfPatriotGames Seriously? Do you even know the details? This is just one book review. All the information is out there in many articles.
I didn't say whether or not X is worth more or less than when he bought it. I said sometimes people buy things because they WANT them, not because they need them. Elon Musk did not NEED Twitter.
My example is like buying a car for your business. You may not NEED a new 100k Cadillac Escalade to haul around your briefcase. But you want it. Even though you know it will instantly go down in value. It's a loss you are willing to accept because you want it. It's just business.
The question the OP asks most likely has to do with the respective level of fame and accomplishments of each. It's really pointless to focus on minutia or perceived flaws of each and compare JUST those flaws. Otherwise we could say no, Magnus is not the Elon Musk of chess because Magnus has bad breath. Elon doesn't. Do you see how silly that sounds?
You obviously aren’t comprehending.
Magnus has a record of being extremely good at chess. To my knowledge he’s done nothing odious to people who work for him, is not publicly abusive to those with no funds to spare for legal action, and he’s not a fascist.
Musk has a record of running businesses into the ground and obtaining government contracts that are tainted by conflicts of interest, among other issues. He’s been saved from bankruptcy by harvesting subsidies. He’s left municipalities in the lurch with incomplete projects. He’s a deadbeat dad who deliberately chose only male embryos for implantation, only to treat an effeminate son with hostility until she came out as trans, at which point he rejected her outright. He manipulates his baby mamas with legal maneuvers and withholding of child support. This list is incomplete.
This is it for my posts on the thread. I presented plenty of examples for anyone to read. There’s far more out in the real world, whether business or technology or general interest.
Ifpateiotgames is pint "but rich or has lots of businesses "
Oh and there's been a slight kiss of death recently for musk
Oh and @ifpatriotgames there's a difference between medeling with millions of people's lives and defending that by going "don't judge " and being really good at something without harming so many people ? Like really at least Magnus is good at something and doesn't have to manipulate people to be good at it
