Yes thats understandable for that ERA but we're not living in medieval times anymore we have 21st century technology,so why wait a month to make a chess move when we can pull a phone out ""while even on the toilet"" and do a simple click! or just resign respectfully and keep you Honor.

Yes. Some people have lives outside of chess that interfere with their chess-playing some times. It is reasonable to give them some allowance for that.
That allowance was here since the day the game of the chess was invented, you simply resign and have your happy outside life. There was no problem that vacation feature trying to solve, and there are a lot of problems because of this feature. Typical marketing crap.

"Daily chess" evolved from postal chess, which involved people sending postcards across the country and world and sometimes having to wait a week or two or more for a reply.
Games could take years to conclude. Sometimes people left their homes for several weeks while the game was going on to take vacations or to go on business trips. The mail was not forwarded.
Their opponents understood and allowances were made.
Thats bs my man. Daily chess has its time limit and vacation stuff just involves in it and breaks initial agreement of the game. Also it's plainly stupid then player takes "vacation" in daily games and keeps playing blitz on daily basis. There no reason to advocate such miserable user experience, it's a bad product feature that nothing to do with chess.
