its a can of worms im afraid? where to start? you can change the ball after 90 overs( in a 5 day test) but often, if your bowling spinners (slow bowlers who make the ball jump in strange ways to get the batsman to miss time his shot) then you dont take the ball. The 20/20 world cup is in England at the moment, both sides only get 20 overs( 6 balls in an over) to get as many runs as they can, its a mad slog thats great fun but not much like real cricket? The AUSSIES are our biggest rivals, have been for a hundred years, we HATE each other on a cricket pitch, big time, they have lost both thier games and are out much to English joy. Now . . . the team batting has 11 batsmen, 1+2 are 'openers' 3 to 6 are 'middle order' 7 to 11 are 'the tail'. the Aussie middle order were a bad joke during both games hence the comment. hard to explain cricket, sure you may find it on an obscure TV channel, worth a watch, i myself am a massive American Football fan, 25 years a Buffalo Bill. . . . and no ring? i watch 8hours of it every season sunday and love it. other cricket terms you wont understand 'googly' 'bouncer' 'owzthat' 'cover drive' 'mid wicket' 'fine leg' 'silly mid on' 'using a runner' 'fishing on the off stump' 'L.B.W'
dropping rating on purpose
col;chester dont do cricket do they ? . . . . or football . . .rugby . . . do u have a netball team?
Our Football team isn't actually so bad.. Pretty close to getting into the Premiership 2 Seasons ago. I don't know about the rest, I imagine they're all S****.
I've lost like 3-4 games in a row to like those people within 50 rating points of me and I do suspect people are cheating by sacrificing their rating. I'm not too sure but I do feel like people are trying to lower their rating on purpose so they win trophies the next week.
I can't be too sure cuz 580 is the baseline so it could be me playing with random player skill levels (since they just started) or people who just lose like 20 games in a row on purpose to cheat.
Here's another reason why:
Since they wanted to annoy other people by dropping their rating quickly, they sacrifice their rating to make sure that they look like playing against them is easier. Another way to look whether they are a good player or not is to check their division, but again, that's easy to game. They could make sure they are not high enough on the division leaderboard to make it look like you can win easily.
Catlock, well said.
Can you explain the Aussie 20/20 middle order saying?
I know how cricket is played, but I'm a baseball fan. I know the pitcher is called the bowler, I know you have 50 overs in a 1 day match, and I know a full test match is 5 days, and they don't repair the pitch or replace the ball. I know a good batsman can score 100+ runs before he makes an out, I know a real home run is 6 points, and a bounce home run is 4 points.
But I don't know anything about the 20/20 middle order.
