Erik, I saw some people asking about other chess servers, like lichess.

Come on, let's fry these patzers!!

I suggest chess.com going public, make a huge and successful  IPO (Inicial Public Offer of shares) in Nasdaq, get a lot of money then crush all this patzers, as Facebook, Twitter does.

never. the current economic system is gross and the idea of running a company to maximize profits for disengaged returns-focused shareholders is yucky.

A question a lot of group admins have asked many times. Is there a way in V3 Club admins could see when members make there moves in Vote Chess games. Like a time stamp. We have been pulling our hair out for years with drive by voters ??

i do like this idea. noting...

Q1: Erik, why am I always late to the party? :)

Q2: Is Chess.com thinking about implementing any new variants, like King of the hill?

Q3: Can I get an honourable mention everywhere for everything I've done for Daily Puzzle? :)

2. already done in V3 (just not enabled for non-staff! )

3. i hereby acknowledge all of the irritating "first" posts you have done

Without giving away any "Top Secret" information,   Can you show us a picture of this monstroscity server--V3..?    Show us the one where Staff and IT are all standing around scratching their heads, pointing to things, holding their notepads, with question marks over their heads  Maybe it will qualify for my "Pets" thread...

there are no new servers, but here is the image:

Hi Friend, can we conduct Online-FIDE rated tournaments for players who cannot participate in Over-the-board rated tournaments, taking example of the recent Online Women's Chess Tournament.

FIDE hasn't extended that option to us, and won't given their own live chess server. but USCF does offer that via Chess.com.

Thanks for lending an ear Erik.

My question is will v3 record my "thematic games (predetermined starting positions)" played in the "my games" database of Game Explorer?

It's a difficult issue and arguments can be made both for and against. Thematic games are not truly representative of your own choices and repertoire, so for now we exclude. But I can understand how some people would want them, so perhaps we can offer it as an option in the future.

Hi Erik!

I see Simon Williams is playing on a new chess board, looks slightly more like the lichess setup. How can I acess the new board?

Another silly technical question, everytime I start a new game my chess board is insanely tiny and I have to click the "simple board" button to get it to full screen. Please Help

go to www.chess.com/switch and you can use the new board and setup. and it SHOULD fix the board issue (if that is a bug in V3, it's in the works to fix...)

chess.com is available on mobile app now. Actually players can play in browsers and apps using the same account. This is nice, although there are differences between browser and app features.

some web browser games are also doing the same thing. And after a few months or years, the features and even the interface of the mobile app became similar to browsers, so there is no difference at all.

Now for my question, will chess.com move the same way? Will the browser interface we are seeing now change similar to the mobile app?

yes. in the new version is it more similar. see new version: www.chess.com/switch

Erik, can you please offer more control features in open team match challenges, in the specs please.

Have been asking for this for 2 years now

For example, when we create an open team match seek we want to be able to restrict which teams can accept and which can't by putting in a group size perimeter. E.g. Only groups that have between 1000 and 1500 members can accept. Or 50-100, or 3000-5000 etc etc.

Snall groups don't want giant groups accepting their open seeks to avoid suicide matches, and vice versa is pointless.

I agree on these points. Hopefully shortly after V3 launches. It's so hard to prioritize all of the great requests from so many people... too many ideas, not enough time...

Chess960 live games? That'd be awesome.

Already available in mobile apps and V3 (www.chess.com/switch). Hard to find a game though until we get more people using it...

Also why can't free members be super admin?

Lots of abuse comes from people who do not self-identify or commit (via a payment). I'm sorry.

In Team VC, could one person be designated the moderator of the team and be able to see votes before he votes? That way he could stop knuckleheads from voting for an obvious trap.

It's this a little counter to the spirit of vote chess? Why do you have knuckleheads on your teams?

@OP: Thank you for granting us the opportunity to ask you questions.

My first question pertains to a small, cosmetic issue. Why are draws listed at the end of a W-L-D record? For example, player statistics read something like, "152 W/ 87 L / 19 D," and tournament standings render players' records as, e.g., 20-7-2, with draws at the end. I am so accustomed to seeing draws in the middle that I regularly need to remind myself that the latter player, above, drew two games and not seven. Could draws be moved to the middle instead?

My second question again relates to draws. Over-the-board tournaments generally require that players keep a written record of their moves as they make them, including all draw offers extended. We, as players, can record when draw offers are made ourselves in the Notes section of any correspondence game, but I think that an automatic recording of all draw offers in the Move List would be convenient, as well as consistent with official practice.

Also, players in Live Chess don't have time, especially during Blitz or Bullet games, to record draw offers themselves. Having them recorded in the Move List automatically would be very nice.

 1. If W / D / L is more standard, I will change it. Looking...

2 / 3. Good idea...
