I think it's friggin hilarious to see people with literally no life so wrapped up in an internet forum that they are melting down about not being able to post 4 times in a row in the same thread!  This sniveling is so trivial.  I'm literally giggling as I read this crap.

I can only post 3, then I might have to wait a few minutes?????? What the ha wha wha whaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

see how much joy it brings you.  that must be worth something.

also for some folks, sad as it may sound, this may be their only hobby, owing to various factors such as disability or loneliness etc ... may not be so hilarious for them.

here's a bunny meltdown for your further amusement

Apologies to the lonely and disabled.  Didn't mean to hurt their lonely disabled feelings but I think even they could wait a few minutes before post number four.

After many days, I still can´t play in live. I started a ticket, and got a "no answer", as the guy answering the ticket couldn´t access or discover why I have been blocked from playing in live, neither could he gave me a time frame on when I could play again.

You have issued a challenge. Waiting to find an opponent rated 1385-1785...
You cannot create this challenge because your account is currently being evaluated by our Fair Play team. You may still play friends and send seeks for standard time controls. Learn more.

Answers to your questions Al, only bring about more questions, which would require more made up answers that might (and usually do) change the next day. So much easier to never begin the vicious circle. Let the bots run the show. They are the only ones that have the real skinny anyway. I'm sure staff has better things to do than to be concerned about such trivia. There's the funny video's to produce. Is it lunch time yet?

i do not agree with "ignorance is bliss" which appears to be what you're (basically) saying.

i forgot to mention a very important point in the op.

erik, you and staff need to step back and consider who the people are that are asking these questions. it's not fly-by-night members only here for a month complaining just to complain.

no, it is people concerned about your site! if we didn't care, we wouldn't bother posting about issues.

and, those times when i have been, um, a pain in the a$$, they are due to provocation as described by panda not being able to play, baddy not being able to post, and the things mentioned in the op.

I admire Al Czerviks' honesty however, unlike Al when I've been a pain in the a$$......its because I wanted to be......a REAL pain the a$$. We are frustrated thow. I'm taking twice the amount of anti anxiety medication from the Veterans' Administration now,.... then I did when I opened my account here. I see threads that either don't exist or should exist. Withdrawal from nicotine and the return of "TheChessIntellect" has me talking to myself more & more. I appreciate the promotion to the "Community Defenders" group but if David doesn't return shortly, we will assume he is dead, and suspend all search operations.

I'd recommend that you just quit cold turkey...I don't mean the nicotine, I mean "TheChessIntellect". (I assume you mean jNewGames.) I just stopped reading his cr*p, I suggest you do too. Maybe you could lower your anti-anxiety meds in the process,.. happy.png

Welcome to chess.com

The moderation here is pretty bad.

I got my posts locked and (illegally) altered because I said men beating women was bad.

[to chess.com mods: Altering posts is a violation of US copyright law. I own the copyright to everything I post. Deleting is fine but altering is the equivalent of a taking a popular song, making a minor change and then claiming to be be the author. I have let things slide for now mainly because its obvious no mod here has the slightest clue what they're doing.]

At the same time I saw a racist post comparing blacks to gorillas. I complained but the mods literally did nothing for hours.

You realize that your diatribe on US copyright law is complete BS, riight? wink.png

In the US, protected works should include "some degree of creativity".  In other words, if you said "Here's a short story I wrote" and posted it here, then chess.com tried to (and this is important) copy it and *use it for their own gain*, you might be able to claim some damages.  As it sits, the stuff you post is not going to qualify.

P.S. If you do publish a short story here, and people give you ideas and help you flesh it out and you incorporate that advice, you can also *lose* your sole copyright...see:  Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Beat me to it.  Copyrighted lol.  Next thing you know gang bangers will be suing the city for alteration of copyrighted grafitti!

Does chess.com alter posts anyway?  Other than deleting a whole post or part of a post, they don't actually change wording or anything do they?

Not to mention infringement of their right of  *artistic* freedom.

Could it be you are not looking at it from their point of view? Isn't it possible they very well know who is complaining? Valid and constructive criticism is something people do if they want to see the product or service get better, which is what most of the criticism is about. If they didn't care or didn't want it better, they wouldn't say anything.

BUT, your point about longtime members complaining could be something they are very well aware of. Wouldn't you agree most members are fairly new members? Wouldn't you agree that most of the longtime members who complain are the very small minority of revenue generators? Could it be that the concern isn't about what YOU want, maybe it's about what chess.com wants. It might be as simple as maximum revenue in exchange for least amount of trouble/outlay.

In all honesty that's probably what I would do at my business. Why would I accomodate the complaints and criticisms from a minority of customers who want something different than what I want? If I make my business unfriendly to them, if I marginalize, censor, or even outright ban them from my business, I dont have to deal with them anymore. The majority of customers, who might be newer and who provide more revenue are the ones I would cater to.

Yes. Expletives and accusations can be edited out but it is done in a manner that makes it obvious what happened and that it was done by a moderator or staff.

Removing a whole post for a couple of things would be draconian. If a post is bad enough where extensive editing is needed, it will likely be deleted in full.

1. The bots are the inevitable result of using low-cost or no-cost AI tech to control the wily, unpredictable, troublesome, unpleasant and quarrelsome human beings that flock to any web site and abuse the Chat, Forum Message and Game playing capabilities. Blame H. Sapiens. Alternative would be to hire human monitors and make the annual subscription 10x more expensive.

2. You don't have to retype, just ctrl-A to select all, ctrl-C to copy, then ctrl-V to paste.

3. Please do not confuse talapia with Management, I am only interpreting based on observation. Management has designated me a poor sport at times, or so I think, I am not really sure what my status is now. I get asked after every game to say "Good game!" to my opponent, so clearly the bot deems I require training diapers.

sorry man, couldn’t be bothered remembering those keys.

No thank you, that is how I am able to make a living. Please do not bother remembering things like that, I will take care of such trivia, for $xx /hr.
