Thank you. We will look into these things and get back to you. My apologies.
erik, we are frustrated

getting back to the automation, a member 52yrral has been muted now for about a day and a half. there is a lot of assuming about the why, but even more about the 'how long'.
no staff member has ever been able to describe the institution of the bots to act as hall monitor. can anyone on staff tell us the "levels" of muting? i think of this in this instance because i can't remember a single post from 52yrall where a muting would be a consideration.

it appears there was a seven day mute put on 52yrral.
the kicker is that he doesn't even know why he received it.
erik, staff, these things need to be fixed.

It was for user notes he tried to post on his own profile, detected and recorded by the automod filter and feeding into the abuse reports; reviewed by a member of the Support team who determined that it was worth a 7 day mute. Presumably he'd be able to contact the Support team and explain why he was posting such things; it's possible he was testing to see whether those particular words were ones that the auto-mod would reject.
notmark, yes.
since i have written about the mutes, red banners, and bots, i have seen quite a few assumptions about when they happen. without any explanation, it is wrong to make blanket statements that mutes happen after five or ten zapped posts.
i don't think anyone really knows.
Certain the developers do. In Live chat, being warned a second time, too quickly after the first, will mute you. I believe the forums might be a little more lenient, though I don't know that for sure. From looking at some previous members admin notes, I think getting a 5th warning might do it as well and some very blatant things can garner an immediate mute.
