Evidently I violated the Good Sportsmanship policy for punishing those who refuse to resign.

I'm afraid I don't understand. Why do you tease them? They waste your time, so you get revenge on them by wasting more of your time? What?!

I don't resign in hopeless positions. People make mistakes, you know. One game of mine, it was a definite loss for me, but my opponent blundered and I got a better position and won. Maybe that is why they don't resign.

They aren't wasting your time. They are hoping you will blunder, which you easily can.

Maybe Chess.com should invest some money in a Troll algorithm help save us all from this waste of time.

Hmmm... how about attaching a "Verified Troll" icon once they get the new algorithm up and running?

Good idea! We can immediately abort the game if we see somebody that has a troll icon. Maybe they'll learn that wasting their time is not of their interest, and that they could just play checkmate instead of risking stalemate.

Might take a few hours or days, but it could save people hours, and considering how many people are on this website, the saved time would add up quickly.

I feel like that's unfair to trolls though, like some people deserve to be made fun of. For example
A) if you're an "uwu pride" girl
B) if you are obnoxious
C) if you are an account by the name of "theswooze"
D) if you do anything that generally make a lot of normal people wanna poor alcohol on a wipe and proceed to rest

I believe that some people do some extremely odd and terrible things, but I don't think making fun of them will help.

Do you only care about your well being instead of others?

well if I don't like them, ofc i dont care about them lol

CoopVegas

Maybe the reason they have turned to these odd desires is because people didn't care about them. Perhaps they weren't raised properly?

If they have decent parents it is their fault, but nearly all people who turn to the odd desires did not have good parents. They were not raised well.

well, if I spent my entire life concerned about other people's feelings because of their actions because of their parents actions and so on and so forth, I would be an empty loser with no personality. Also I'd probably be bored a lot.

CoopVegas

I didn't say you had to care only about others, but you do have to consider other people's feelings.

I don't think I "have" to do crap. -_-

Selfishness won't get you anywhere.

CoopVegas

I never play with my opponents. I don't understand how that teaches them a lesson. Not resigning could get you a draw. I'd rather not lose any elo than lose 30 elo which I could have easily saved, even if it is only a chance.

A chance is better than, well, no chance.

selfishness got me where I am now, and things couldn't go better.

#NeverResign Gang Alert!

Why would black resign? That's gonna be an easy stalemate. He's got a bishop, he can't fight off a rook and some pawns???

Never Resign Gang Here,

What usually happens here is the rook escapes to a dark square (assuming a light square bishop, like in that position), supporting a pawn promotion. Then the opponent gets a queen, and uses it, along with the rook, to pry apart your king and bishop, and take the bishop. Then it's just a matter of lone king vs king, queen, rook, and 2 pawns, and playing the hope game.

You are absolutely not #NeverResign Gang, you are what I like to call a rational thinker. #NeverResign Gang see only one thing here: stalemate. They are sure their opponent will stalemate. They watched all of their games and found one or more stalemates and so they know that is what is going to happen here.

I am in the Never Resign Gang. Above is my proof of membership.

why give people respect that they rarely give back anyways? I've tried being the friendly one and people are just too...judgmental so to speak. And I'm tired of it
