Feature Requests and Wishlist Thoughts!!?
I think it would be nice to see some improvements to "Little Chess Partner." Maybe a sound when a piece moves, or if there is a check, sometimes the program moves so fast, I can't tell what move was made. Also, it would be nice to see the lost material on the side of the board.
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before (this is a loooong posting).
First of all,its good to see that new game seeks with the same move limit can be issued in quick succession. However, I'd like the new game seek screen improved so that I can create multiple games with identical parameters. e.g. retain all the current new game parameters, but include a new one - Number of games - so that I could, for example, set up 5 games, where I play black, against opponents rated between 1600 and 1800.
The Number of Games parameter should be limited - to 10 say - to prevent abuse. In addition, it should only be possible to issue a bulk new game seek every so often (once a week) again, to prevent abuse.
What do you think?
On the screen

Would it be possible to include the players Games in Progress count and timeout percentage?
I know that screen real estate is tight here, so could we have it as a 'pop up' when hovering over the player name?
This would save you having to drill down on the player name to check their profile for this information - and potentially missing the chance to accept the invite.
An officiel www.chess.com T-shirt with: "1. e4??" and postcards with the complete theory on the Lenny Bongcloud Attack to buy!
I would like to see some cosmetic changes in most stats summeries: stats over a shorter period of time.
I think the suggestion of an audible sound when your opponent has played is a great idea, and as far as I'm aware it hasn't been implemented yet (correct me if I'm wrong). This would be useful to me because I don't always notice the 'My Move' flashing in the taskbar when I'm doing other things!
Another useful feature would be an indicator as to the current status of your oponent as opposed to either 'Online' or 'Offline'. What I mean by this is a feature whereby if a user is inactive for so many minutes then their status is set to 'Away'. Sometimes when I'm playing I find that I'm waiting for ages for them to move. Admittedly sometimes they may be considering their move, but other times they are probably doing other things (I know I've done that). I always check whether they've got other games in which it is their move as well, but I think a feature like this would prevent a lot of wasted time.
Just my thoughts ![]()
I would like the ability to sort my games archive. I do know I could download them all and then try to sort them into folders, but I think if the ability was integrated then it would be a lot more convenient. Rather than just viewing the games archive chronologically, I'd like to drag and drop them into lists like "Wins", "Losses", "To Annotate/Study", "Memorable", "Forgettable", "Lost/Won on Time", etc.
If this was integrated it would give even more incentive for people to purchase of Gold+ membership, and it would genuinely assist in the study of our older games. When you sign into your games archive it could have your total unsorted list to the left and then marked tabs into which you can drag and drop them... this way when you're revisiting your list you don't always have to wade through the entire thing looking for a game you want to show someone, etc.
Specifying predetermined moves in a game, would be nice.
If my opponent moves abc, then automatically respond xyz.
Maybe even set multiple levels of if..then automatic responses.
Automatically moving when only one legal move is available, would also be nice.
I agree Shadowslayer - that's a great idea. There could be a link on your page called "My Memorable Games" and you're able to store up to 10 or something. I mean, we can always make articles about them, but I think it would add a personal touch to our profile pages to showcase games.
