Feature Requests and Wishlist Thoughts!!?
Worth saying the progress of this site, and how advanced it is already speaks volumes of not only your ability Erik, but your dedication to this site. This makes it a very exciting chess site to be a part of.
One thing that would be cool is when visiting a player's profile, include a section, or a link to past games between the viewer and the player. For example, if I am logged in as me, and i view Erik's profile, I can see readily how many times I've gotten beaten by Erik. Maybe a personal record, and perhaps a link to the individual games.
a 3d board?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
you mean one that you can rotate? etc? oh my... sure. that feature will be here in 2015.
thats ok...i might be a half decent player by then :)
An IMs for friends to keep in touch with each other in Live Chat
or voice chat in a IMs
It would be handy for chat room and Voice chat would be good for teacher and pupil enviroment as well.
Just a thought
I'm not a programmer or web designer in the least so feel free to disregard this, but it would be interesting if a subsection of the seeks (that is, in addition to the seeks as are currently seen) could be sorted by 'prospective first move'. So for example, supposing you wanted to play as white and open with 1. e4 (and were willing to advertise this fact) than some sort of function would allow you to put in that first move and when person would accept, then your first move will already be made. Alternately, one might as black place a seek in this subsection for 1.d4, in which a player of white upon accepting, has this move made automatically for them, after which black can continue later on. Possibly, with an optional second move by black that can be input (with perhaps a choice of advertising or not what this move may be or if there is one?) 1. d4 (insert move) after which white can then continue.
This would have the advantage of allowing the acceptance of a seek to be more productive when the seeker is offline at the time of acceptance, and also the specialisation of games. For example, supposing a player wants to improve his game against 1. d4, but nobody will play it! (I know this has happened to me; at least in analogous situations). Of course misuse might be possible so it sounds reasonable that a maximum number of seeks in this subsection per month or year etc. be established.

in the future we plan to allow you to specify the opening :)
Would it be possible to track someone's rating over a certain time period, like in a graph? That way, you could see when you were improving and how quickly you were improving.

gimme a few days...
:) great idea. we're going to do this.
A couple of suggestions on the interface:
1. It would be handy if there was a way to quickly toggle through your active games, rather than having to go to My Home...Online Chess... and selecting them. (maybe a "next game" button?). If you've got one very complicated game going and one simple opening in progress, it gets very distracting when you need to jump around.
2. Shouldn't there be an option available for Resign when it's your move?
I'm yet to come across any opponents like that. I don't look forward to the prospect of doing so.
That said, I like the ability to wish my opponent "good luck" & thank them after the game. It would be a shame to play against opponents who don't wish to participate in such basic pleasantries.
Ok.. this is really small and insignificant.. but I see there are England, Scotland and Wales flags, as well as the Republic of Ireland.. is there any chance of a Northern Ireland one?
Oh.. and how about a Chess.com Wiki area? Could be interesting, and as we would be the main contributers, could be a good place to correlate all our chess experience..?

hahahhahaha...
That would be a FLASH application (?)... I've been waiting for Yahoo to do that for years... Will Chess.com be able to win the chessboard war against the internet giant????
