So, does the rating you get on chessarena.com really count in your real FIDE ratings? or do you have to play OTB to get a real rating?

OTB is necessary ! ✌️😎

Nope, you need to play the real OTBs. That FIDE is different.

No, that may change eventually but so far it doesn't count for anything.

FIDE Arena ratings do NOT count as official FIDE ratings. They are completely independent.

Last time I checked, only 3-5 people were online. Looks dead to me, Jim.

I think ECF has a real online platform though

Okay

Totally wrong. They are official and count as ratings.

OK.  Where do they count?

On the FIDE Arena site?

Anywhere else?

Firstly, the FIDE arena titles are recognised in the list of players of the official web ratings and secondly, in the presential tournaments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2wv3hb1S8c

I am sorry.  I couldn't find that after several web searches.   I found several Jorge Blanco listings in FIDE but no Arena Masters.

Is there a website to look up the rating?

Isn't it supposed to show a rating on the "official web ratings page"?

OK.  Which one are you?

How come you don't play here?

Avatar of guess-the-photo

None. Just people I know.

The point was to prove the officiality of those titles and ratings.

By the way, playing  against low ratted players in FIDE Arena is harder than in chess.com

Avatar of vfonvnofCPO

I agree.

FOA is a difficult place to play chess for the people under 2000.

The titles are a good  motivation and the effort is real.

By the way,  the starting ELO in FIDE ARENA is based on anything real but  here at this present plattform you as user invent the starting ELO as you please. Even the bots are eaisier than FOA´s machines. Not to say the habitual low rated players.

FIDE recognizes them and FIDE events list them when they exist, so they are official in that sense.

You get the online rating and pay for the title, so they have to give you something wink
