Game Settings

Hi! I set my parameters to +50 and the last four games I was assigned people 200 pts higher than me. Anyone know why? Thanks!

It's getting worse...now they've assigned me people 800 pts higher... and chat is restricted. I don't remember violating any rules.  I pay for this site. I may end my contributions.

Try making the setting change from within Play, by clicking the Settings icon beside the board.

I can't chat with players anymore.  I feel as though I'm secretly being punished. Also, I'm getting an auto abort message 3 moves deep into a game where I'm not taking much time at all.  Maybe there is a glitch? Will chess.com read this or should I contact them somehow? Thanks!!

You’re clearly not muted as you’re posting here. Maybe your opponents had their chat turned off?

As for being assigned players much higher rated, was it in a tournament, as that would override your parameters.

The auto-abort thing could have come from a weak internet signal.

I'm not certain why you say I'm "clearly not muted." When I start a game it says "chat disabled" where I would normally start chatting. 
As for parameters, I've ever entered a tournament.

Hmm you may have messed around with your settings too much, isn't there an option to reset to defaults? Click that if you can find it. Sorry that's all the help I can give, not knowledgeable enough to help.

From within Play, check your Chat settings there. It may not be open enough

Just because I think a mute would extend to the forum as well and you wouldn’t be able to post here. Besides, you’d normally know about it. 

Sounds like you’ve just run into some opponents who have disabled the chat.

Also with regard to the rating thing, what exactly are your settings? It’s the ‘outgoing’ sections that determine who can accept seeks that you put out.

no, nothing works...every game chat box, where I used to type my comments, says "chat disabled."  In every game, maybe 100.
Also, I'm a 1254 in rapid and 887 in blitz and I routinely get assigned 1700 players, even though my parameters are set to +- 25.
Is there any way to contact the people who run this site?

You forgot to mention that you mostly play unrated games. I don't know if the parameters are applied to unrated games.

They would only if applied in the "custom" window when making the challenges I believe. Depends if unrated games count as outgoing challenges in the play chess settings, I believe that they do in live.
