Games with Fritz - Assisted Analysis or No?
Of course SirIvanhoe. I didn't mean using it while playing on Chess.com. I meant while I'm playing practice games on the Fritz software itself.

Sorry, my misunderstanding. I'm afraid then that my opinion on that may be of little value. A trusted chess coach might give the best answer. But my own habit is not to use such features while playing a game against a computer, preferring instead to treat the computer game just as if it were a real OTB game against a human and then have the program analyze the game only after the game is over. So then I get "real" practice and use the program to spot my errors.
Hello. I'm just getting back to playing chess again and purchased the latest version of Fritz. I read in one of the Chessbase articles that players should consider using the Assisted Analysis functionality which would highlight pieces and squares to notify me whether a move is good or bad, along with Fritz indicating if I'm winning or losing. I can definitely see the appeal to that and agree it would benefit me during that specific game. But I'm wondering if I should play with it turned off so that my first X number of games would be based on my actual current playing skill. Maybe it makes more sense to play 10 (or more!) games with no extra help so the program can make a truer determination of my playing skill. Otherwise, with the Assisted Analysis turned on, my results would definitely be higher because I would be immediately alerted to tactics, blunders, etc. So I'm trying to figure out when it makes sense to turn that feature on. What do you think?
