I suspected that a person was using an engine and reported it. Chess.com banned the account and gave me 14 points back. Thanks to Chess.com team. However, its highly disappointing to see people cheat.

Reported today and your opponent was banned today.

Observation and question for mods.
If discussion of this nature are routinely locked and noted there is a correct forum for such, why the inconsistency?
This thread is discussing cheating and is not locked or referred to the accepted forum.
Another thread of the same issue was locked very quickly, only difference being one thread praised the site (this one) and the other thread was critical of users, not any comment about site or process.
So, if mentions of C word also include praise for the site action of these reports is it ok to post in general forums?

Will we get to 24 hrs before we see this from a mod?

If you feel any member is using disallowed resources you should report them via the option on their profile. The site closed close to 70,000 accounts last month due to fair play violations.

That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. If you want to discuss join the following club: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum

Not picking on mods, just asking if things have changed as not listed in the forum guides.
Was surprised to see an experienced mod not lock and load the usual statement when C word is mentioned in forum other than the dedicated one for such discussion.

The rules are that you can't make accusations of cheating. However, in this case, the cheater's account had already been closed. Naming accounts that have been closed is allowed.

If the discussion broadens, the thread may be closed.

/ Oh, I guess it already has...
