To clarify, you just aren't seeing the opening name to click to go to Explorer? You can still manually go to Explorer and have it load?
I use mint 20 and the explorer is there for me

there is a button for opening explorer now? where, i've looked everywhere?

The tabs work just fine - most always in browser or app. Seems they do get a giddy-up on occasion and take a hike for whatever reason. If the problem repeats a simple restart solves issues. Perhaps stored data clutters- clear all browsing data.
My iOS app is faster and more convenient- the platform layout far simpler. Chrome and Edge have few issues. Tried Firefox - not up to par. I play games on iOS app. Reliable and stable. Don’t recommend playing games in any browsers on your phones. It’s just too finicky.
yah well my phone browser app worked much better than chess.com app last time I tried it, several times a year I guess I use it.
but am going to see if i can see my games inside opening explorer - why did they change it? because too many people were playing book???
