ENG 🇺🇸

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day.

I’m writing this because today I reached 2016 in Rapid, and while that was my goal, I’m not entirely proud of how I got there. My last rapid game was full of mistakes, and it honestly left me feeling uneasy.

I’d really appreciate any advice or resources you can share to help me improve. I’d love to keep climbing, but I’m hesitant to play again until I feel more confident in my game.

Thanks so much in advance for your help and support!

nah trust nobody's gonna help a 2000 rated plater, no empathy for these high rated people XD sorry but yea me included. Like bro there are so many of us hovering and suffering at 1000 or less, and here comes a 2000 asking for help, you don't need help tbh 🤣🤣💀

Read my posts in this thread, posts #4, 7 to 10 and especially 12.

GM Larry Evans' method of static analysis - Chess Forums - Chess.com

Then play over the three sample games on pages 1 and 2, reading the notes.

We all need help. We all suck at this game. Ask Stockfish.

yea but if help is not limitless it should be used on those who need it more lol. I really need help but at 1000 elo or 1200 level, not 2000. Any suggestions on fast improvement?

Also you need to focus on endgames

GavinTheKing668

This is because…. I checked your two most recent rapid losses and they came in winning/easily drawing endgames

Hi. I looked at your last 3 losses..

There are many positives to mention. Fairly solid openings. Pieces are developed so they work together. Only infrequent misses of 1- and 2-move tactics.

negatives? I thought that your middlegame play was a bit superficial—based on 1-movers rather than longer range plans. In one game, you exchanged a bishop for no good reason. Later, you exchanged a good bishop for a knight to win a pawn, even though you had a better position that was worth more than the pawn. This happens when one plays blitz and rapid. It can work in speed chess but it doesnt really make you a better chessplayer.

i also thought that you allowed your opponent to build up attacking chances even though you stood better. So you did not anticipate the strength of his counterplay, and you did not shut down this counterplay when you stood better.

Suggestions for improvement? Play slower time controls. Play fewer fast games. Spend more time analyzing your games afterward, attending to strategic plans. Find an OTB club where you can discuss games.

Good luck.

Thank you so much!! I’ll try to do some 15+10 or 10+15 tomorrow, I’ll probably use my main account to get some free courses on chess.com with my diamond membership

I can help even though I am 1150 here, but I will try. On one of your rapid games you managed to run out of time to do stuff and blundered your queen. If you are thinking between 2 moves and might think for 2min then it is better to just play because 2min is not a good trade for 0.08+ evaluation.

Bro doesn't usually play rapid alot
