Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to do that. However, you could enable the pre-move setting which would allow you and your friend to make moves pretty much instantly, thus saving some time.

yep thats the only way to do it. im still looking forward to the time when we can play random chess positions though not likely huh
My games with a friend always start with the same 10 or 12 opening moves. We could save time if we could set up that position and start from there. How do I do that?
