How does chess.com detect cheating among really strong players

How did they manage to find out that Tigran L Petrosian was cheating? I  mean he was actually lost against Fabi and spoiled a win against Jeffrey Xiong. Now I know this doesn't necessarily mean that he wasn't cheating, but I don't understand how they can find out for certain that he was.

As Nakamura put it, there are moves that when played, don't look great, but on second thought and deeper analysis, they are actually very strong. These moves are made by computers, so if a player plays 4 or more of these in a game, it's likely they are cheating.
