How Have YOU fared In The Game Of Chess As Life??

Originally I wanted to tile this post as "Chess As Life", but that smacked too much of Bobby Fischer, since he said the same thing once, almost verbatim.  Anyway, Fischer's quote notwithstanding, life could be compared to a game of chess (with Life itself--or maybe even "Fate"; possibly even oneself--being the OPPONENT).  People either "win" or "lose" or get a "draw"...and there are various aspects of each path-----one can "WIN" an elegant checkmate with many pieces still on the board (my older brother fits this description; successful accountant, with assets and retirement savings well-stocked as he approaches retirement); once can "WIN" via the old grinding game victory, with most of the pieces off the board (sums it up for me, lol); as far as losing goes, it could be interpreted as homelessness or institutionalization of some kind, like long-term incarceration for example, but not necessarily death (that probably could be chalked up to some "Resigned games", such as in the case of my younger brother, who committed suicide after life got to be too much for him).  And "Draws" could be interpreted as just floating through life, going from job to job aimlessly, without any real investment in life and/or retirement (that would be my dad).  Other examples abound, I'm sure...are you aware of any family, friends, acquaintances, etc., out there who might fit the description of having either "won" or "lost" or "drawn" their Game Of Life?? And what about YOU, reader?? Food for thought...admittedly, such a subject should be probably given the Blog treatment, but alas I have not the technical expertise to pull that off, hence this basic post...perhaps some enterprising soul out there can expand upon this theme in a blog?? I encourage you to do so...

I compared chess to family members
Father being the king because he can order his pieces to win the game
Mother Being the queen, being the most powerful, also can do things such as washing plates
Oldest brother being the rook, because he can bring the king to safety by castling,as to helping his father
Sister as the bishop, since she is responsible for taking care of their baby brother and little brother
Little brother as the knight, you can do various tactics such as a common fork.
And the baby as the pawn, because babies are the descendant of their respective families. As they grow, they will take more responsibilities,as to pawns that when they reach the end of the board they become knight, bishop, rook,or queen

Kasparov wrote a book related to this idea "How Chess Emulates Life" or something like that. You might consider checking that out
