How much attention do women on chess.com receive

I'm a bloke and almost no one on here talks to me, during or after games etc. Not that that bothers me since i rarely speak to my opponents either, but apparantly if you're a woman on here you get loads of attention. Whether said attention is welcome is another matter.

Just curious to know Is this true? If i decided i wanted to become more popular, do i just need to change my profile pic to some pretty model or something?

I get friend requests from people that I neither known or have played literally daily. I get messages saying “hi” multiple times a week. I put a rainbow on my flair so that people would think that I’m gay in hopes that it would stop, but no. I’ve considered changing my pic to a dude and changing my screen name to that of a man, but I got mad at myself for even considering it.

So the answer is yes: you will get a lot more attention if that’s what you crave.

I can imagine...

I once made a WoW account and pretended to be female, just to see what it's like. Within a week, I had a random guy message me daily, always wanting to get to know me, and insisting that I get on discord so he can talk to me through voice.

I was tempted to go on discord and scare him with my deep voice lol. But I left it at that.

Meanwhile, I've had a Chess.com account for 13 years and not a single person has ever been interested in asking me about real life stuff or getting to know me. Any conversations I have with people are strictly about chess. It's funny just how different it is.

This site is about playing chess, not about being horny and looking for chicks...
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. As a male, I only have to deal with players who stall, taunt or cheat...

Maybe the crazy clown handle and avatar have something to do with that, haha.
