How should we deal with creepy or inappropriate DMs on Chess.com?

Hi all.

I received an inappropriate private message just now asking sexual questions (unsolicited and harassing). I’ve reported the user and blocked them, but I want to warn others, if you get a DM like this, please block and report immediately.

I think it’s important we talk about this so people, especially younger players, know they’re not alone and understand how to stay safe online.

If you’ve received anything similar, please also report it, multiple reports help moderators act faster. Stay safe everyone.

Exactly, and don't engage with them (unless your trolling, I guess)

There is also an option in the superb support bot to report harassment directly with screenshots which increases chances for the abuser to get rid of the account

Here we have a large community, free communication means (chats, direct messages) and a very easy way to create accounts, that's enough
