Why don't you join a club or make one yourself? That's what they're there for
how the forums don't reflect chess

Im Outta here i need to do my like. fractions homework with x and y and things
help me on the question x over 7 is 21

Yeah. You know, you want to get the variable by itself, and you have to do the same thing to both sides of the equation for it to remain equal. And sometimes you have to do the same thing to every term in the equation. Math is fun, really. Wish I had some to do

Great idea from the kids. Mods just play along.

Let's have fewer school shooting and more home shootings. Why not?
This must be the current generation's humor.

Yeah, preferably Off Topic wouldn't show up in Hot Topics.
Been advocating this step for some years now ...maybe a grass-roots campaign is in order...
I don't care if Off Topic exists, but "Hot Topics" should only show the chess-related forums...it should exclude Off Topic, help forums, promote my club forums, etc. This prevents munchkins from trying to get attention all the time.
This actually a pretty trivial change, possibly not even requiring coding that would have a huge and immediate impact on how these forums are perceived. I'm not sure Chess.com even has a dev on staff anymore that knows the forum or TinyMCE editor software, though.

If off-topic isn't your cup of tea then maybe you should just move on instead of ranting, & complaining about someone else's creation. The forums don't reflect chess unless you're in a chess-related forum. DUH!.....there are 20 of them.

It's not "off topic" it's not topics at all! It's just "please clog the forums by replying to the person above you" chat room threads. Even random rants about random things would make more sense. I started a thread about making tunnels through Earth's core, got 1 reply. One would think that would attract all the post-whatever-pops-into-your-head types (even though that wasn't the intention), but nope lol, got instantly buried by breezysquirrel and the other usual suspects (estimating around 50 of them by now). Only actual specific topics should be allowed e.g (computer science, space exploration, movies, TV shows, life experiences, animals..etc) one topic that should be banned is philosophy, that's probably more damaging to the common age demographic here than even p0litics (which I explained why in the other thread).

You already have a reputation. You complain about everything. You complain about the weather, speed limits, you complain about Diannea Troy beating Data in chess on Star Trek. Yrs ago, people read news papers. The obituary column didn't reflect the funny pages. Whatever you say kid,....I'm out.

The forums are overrun with mindless topics from children and now the site has put children in the role of moderation. That's progress.😏
