how to contact mods?

Hi,

There's someone posting inappropriate comments in a thread. I thought about DM'ing a mod or something, but not sure if that's what I should do as I'm sure the mods are very busy. I have reported the commenter, but the response to such a thing can be slow. What's the correct thing to do in this or similar situations?

If it's something really bad, yeah, you can look for mods that are online and message them.

I don't think what's going on in that topic is an emergency, but sure, you could message a mod over it. The worst thing that could happen is the mod would ignore you and someone else would eventually take care of it.

Hello,

it is all explained on this page: https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone

You may also report the posts using the report button on the top right of each posts:

I think the best approach it to reports using the website tools, so any mod could pick it up.

YMMV when messaging mods, they may be already be doing other tasks and may not attend to the report as quickly as when using the reporting tool.
