How to download chess.com on PC
Sort:
step 1: Look at the top right corner of the address bar and you will see an icon with the name down.
Step 2: click on it, then you will see a message like the picture above, then click "install" on it.
Step 3: after you click that if you see its download complete ( below the photo ) you complete download !
Because im from Vietnam so the chess.com home PC It has Vietnamese words, hope everyone understands.

If you want to remove the browser UI just press F11 while on the webpage, I'm pretty sure that almost any chromium based browser would hide the browsers UI and the windows taskbar when you do this. This pretty much makes it feel as if the website is an app.

you could download an android emulator and download the app into that

Unless you're on a mobile device, there is no "app" to download.
BUT...
I use Chrome, on a PC (a laptop actually) but I also have Microsoft's browser, Edge, installed, and I use it for exactly one thing, to treat chess.com as an app. You go to www.chess.com, then choose "run as an app"... it puts a shortcut on your home page, and on your taskbar as well if you want, then opens without a browser, full screen, no tabs, no search bar, bookmarks, etc.
