It's not really about how old your PC is but how up-to-date your browser is. Keeping your browser (and operating system) updated is important for security reasons. This is not only important if you use online banking or make online payments; you don't want your PC to be taken over by crackers who add it to their botnet, for example.

In some cases, it's both. Many members with the problem are on an OS version that's no longer receiving browser updates and they're on the last version the browser vendors support for their OS.
