Important ....your help is needed

Hello Everyone.

I know this is going to be a bit off topic but it is important so im going to write it anyway. You all must be familiar with Kohai. She is one of the staff here at chess.com who helps eric keep this site running efficiently for us all so we can all enjoy our time here.

   Those of us who have become friendly with her know how much pain she has been in waiting for surgery for the last few years. Once again the insurance companies are putting it off and delaying surgery that she desperately needs to start feeling like herself again. 

   Could you all do me a favor(actually Kohai a favor, im the messenger) and click the link below and sign a petition she started. So that perhaps the right people will hear her plight. I really appreciate the few minutes you take to do this for her.    Warm Regards, Laurie aka sleeping-beauty

Why has this world gone to sh*t in the 21st century?  Insurance companies won't help somebody in agonizing pain, but they'll support bullsh*t things like breast implants or full medical coverage on idiots that unnecessarily inhale foreign objects into their body with BS like Cancer Sticks or Drugs, and don't give me the BS that it's an addiction...you never "need" Cancer Sticks (a.k.a. Cigarettes).  This woman needs the surgery.

And I don't know very well what's the petition, there is quite a lot of text about the problem(s), but too little on the actual petition that it's wanted to be done

yeah but the petition just reduces to the last two lines:

We need to get answers from those who are making these decisions about the elective surgery
and how it will effect us.

You are so right thrillerfan about the rehab. It infuriates me to think that a drug addict will get help to go to rehab( and more often then not be right back on the drugs) and she has to suffer  like that.

As for you Pdela.  She did start the petition. I just took it a step further for her. BECAUSE she is in pain and has enough to do.  If it is not clear to you then dont sign it. no problem.

Yes, sure, I wouldn't sign if I didn't want to. That is clear and that's not the point, to clarify what I'm signing and why it is important. But don't state that just cause I do a couple of question, for your info your thread pops up between the most recent post every time I write ;). bump!

well if that is problematic for you , you can simply unclick the tracking comments box in the right hand upper corner of the message box and that will remedy that situation for you. you wont see it any more. problem solved.

but you are quite spoiling the thread by suggesting things like some people with cancer don't deserve treatment or addicts to drugs do not deserve going to rehab, that kind of statement are the ones damaging the thread

Drug addicts get treatment because the social cost of hardcore alcoholism and drug addiction is much higher than someone with painful arms and shoulders.  Most of the worlds population would be lucky to get any treatment at all for such a condition.

i didn't mention anything about people with cancer not deserving treatment. you need to reread  what i said.  im not at all spoiling the thread you are. my intentions are genuine and hopefully helpful toward her. If you have an issue with any of it simply move on and ignore it.  you dont have to cme here and argue about it.

I do realize that there are cultural barriers that are causing confusion here. what things are like here in the usa are different then they are in england or brazil or where ever else you guys come from. the bottom line is everyone deserves treatment period. without insurance companies worrying about profiting from peoples ailments

Have said nothing against the petition, just asked for info and said that some stuff people were stating had nothing to do with what I understood was the problem and tons of posts telling me

but I sure wish the best to Jules and will apologize her for this stupid discussion (comments done by myself included). And I was in clinic two months last year so I know what is being bad
