It seems to me that chess.com has a number of events that they start and never stick with. The "world bullet championship" is a great example, they did it once and we never heard of it again (once in my 2 years on chess.com that I've seen that is). Now I fear the puzzle rush championship will be the next competition to fade away. Also the Fischer Random world championship has not been talked about much and to my knowledge they haven't even decided whether it will be every one or two years. I know they didn't know at the time since the commentators discussed it during the event. But that would be especially unacceptable since it's an official FIDE event. It should have at least been announced by now anyway since the qualification process takes months not counting time to get publicity and sign people up. It's 99% online as well so COVID-19 is not a problem. Of course, I'm not on staff at chess.com so there are probably lots going on behind the scenes that I don't know about.
