Insane combination of moves!!

It's a nice puzzle, which BTW is solved by an engine in less than two seconds, and depth 20.

I spotted an interesting idea.

1. Qxg7 Kxg7

2. h6+ Kxh6 (If the king does not take then Ne7 and Bf6 in some order mates)

3. Bf6 with the threat of Rh2#. As far as I can see there's no checks at the end of that line, and so no way of stopping the mate? idk though i might have missed something.

Just spotted 3... Rxd2 stops the above, will keep searching

Your idea is fine, but it fails to deliver mate (actually loses) after 3...Rxd2.

But you are in the right track, you just need a "preliminary move" before execution!
