As of 2007-08-31, this is the oldest unanswered post, and I just have to say hello to you. It seems to be a good Chess site. 
This is a great site so enjoy it. It's nice to get people from all over the globe joining. It's great that chess has such an international appeal as opposed to some interests which seem to be regional. Long live chess!

@SonofPearl is one of the oldest still-active members, a great contributor and a once-upon-a-time forum regular who knows his way here and back. I can only guess... but I suppose he just grew tired of all the inanity.

It seems I have been resurrected! 
I've actually never left the site, and even worked for Chess.com writing news articles for around 5 years until about 2012 I think. I still play Daily Chess games here for Team Wales, and read the latest chess news. @batgirl - It's great that you are still here too, contributing excellent content as always.

The unanswered posts link tops out at 15 pages, so finding that would take some work.
Hello everyone. I'm 36 and I'm from Wales in the UK. I've been playing chess since I was 5 and I love the game.
I haven't played OTB chess for a long time now, but I enjoy using Fritz 10 to play and analyse my games and use Hiarcs on my Palm PDA.
I have my own chess blog at blogger and I am a moderator at the Chess Exchange forum.
This site looks very promising and I will be checking back regularly and hopefully find time to contribute as well.
